9 Steps to More Traffic than You Can Handle
I am writing this article series for those of you out there who want mass amounts of traffic coming to their site every single day. With so many websites being created on a daily basis, it’s hard to rise to the top of Google and be seen and clickable, but I’ve got a 9 step process to help you slip your SEO floaties on. By the end of this article series you should be well-equipped to open the flood gates, so you can swim in deep seas of traffic every day.
What is the Main Focus of this Process?
Backlinking!
“Oh, I’ve heard all I need to know about backlinking… I’m closing this page!” Is that you right now? Well, how’s your traffic? Not good? Do you think you could maybe use a little help and that it’s possible I might say something that might help you get more traffic? I think so too. Why? Because I’m not afraid to admit that I don’t know everything, but I am willing to share what I know because other people have shared a lot with me, and it’s given my traffic a boost.
And even though I’m sure a lot of you already know a good amount about backlinks, I’m going to start out with a little introduction into the world of backlinks. And all a backlink is is a link that points to your site. That’s it! But without backlinks, Google won’t be able to find your site and you’d have to submit it manually to the search engine. And even then you’re just there and, since no one’s pointing at you, Google forgets about you and you’re buried under other sites that are getting attention. Don’t get neglected! On the other end of the spectrum, when you have a lot of backlinks it just means that there are a lot of sites pointing your site, and that catches Google’s eye.
The more sites that point to you, the better the chances that you will rise to the top of the search engines, but it depends on a lot of things. Things like… What keywords did people link to your site with? Did they use a variety of different keywords in their anchor text? Did you get all the backlinks yourself or did other people link to you too? Do you get a steady amount of links or did you get them all at once? Do you have links from a bunch of different types of sites? Do you have links from sites with high Page Ranks? Do you have both do follow and no follow links pointing to your site?
These are the questions I’m going to help you answer correctly throughout this article series. There are a lot of methods being used out there that might have worked at one time, but we all know that Google changes its algorithm ALL the time. So, old methods don’t always work and some methods you’re being taught NEVER really worked. But there is one underlying principle that always works…
Are You Being Natural Enough?
And the other thing I’m going to focus on is being NATURAL. Google’s not stupid and I’m grateful for that because they really are the best search engine out there. If they were stupid, then anyone could easily trick the system, get thousands of links in a day and be on page one for as long as they want. And can you guess what that would mean for you… someone looking for something online? All you’d ever see is JUNK from people who knew how to beat the system! Anyone with deep pockets and a lot of time on their hands could rise to the top, IF we were dealing with a stupid Google.
But we’re not! So you have to keep your backlinking efforts as natural as possible, or Google will know that it’s YOU trying to get your site more traffic, not other people. And hey, there’s nothing wrong with getting links to your own sites, we all share links with other people and a lot of you probably produce a lot of good content that deserves to be seen, but to truly make it to the top, and stay there, you have to play by Google’s rules. So look up at all those questions I just asked and think about how you would answer them, if you were trying to be as natural as possible. And as you go through each article in this series you’ll find out if you answered correctly, and you’ll get a lot of tips on how to make each step work for you, in a VERY natural way. I’ve set this series up in a way so that, if you do any self-promotion or sharing, you aren’t punished for it.
The Benefits of Being Natural
Because when you get links to your site in a natural way then Google awards you like you should be awarded. You will eventually rise to the top of the search engine results, you’ll stay there and the traffic won’t stop coming in. But if you do something like get 1,000 links in a day and stop there, then you’re in for a world of hurt, in a day or two! That’s one of the biggest mistakes you can make, because it’s obvious that you, or someone you paid, is trying to boost your rankings, in the most unnatural way. So, focus on being natural with your linking, use a little logic and if you’re not sure how to practice natural backlinking then be sure to read the rest of this article series.
